Description
The LAMY 2000 was introduced in 1966 and has barely changed since. Designed by Gerd A. Müller, it is widely regarded as one of the most enduring fountain pen designs ever made, a pen that earns its reputation through daily use rather than display.
LAMY 2000 (black) — The body is constructed from Makrolon, a brushed fiberglass material that is lightweight, sturdy, and warms to the touch. At 26g it is exceptionally light for a piston-fill pen of this quality, making it well suited to long writing sessions.
LAMY 2000 M (silver) — The full-metal version, constructed entirely from brushed stainless steel. At 54g it has noticeably more presence and weight in the hand, with the same seamless construction and clean lines as the original. A considered step up for those who prefer a more substantial feel.
Both versions share the same DNA: a semi-hooded 14ct gold nib platinum coated to match the brushed steel fittings, a smooth piston filling system that integrates into the barrel so cleanly the seam is barely visible, and a subtle ink window that only becomes apparent when levels run low. The no-nonsense construction and distraction-free design allows you to forget the pen and focus on the writing.
Available in 8 nib grades from EF to BB, including oblique options.
