Designed by Hannes Wettstein, the Swiss designer whose work spanned product design, corporate identity, interiors, and architecture, the LAMY Studio Ballpoint brings the same understated design as the rest of the Studio range to a pen that writes instantly on virtually any surface.
The slim all-metal body is deliberately understated, and the propeller-shaped clip cuts across the barrel with intention; turning a functional detail into the pen's most memorable feature. The twist-action mechanism extends the tip smoothly and precisely, with no cap to lose Oil-based ballpoint ink dries almost instantly, resists smearing, and handles slick surfaces and receipts without complaint. Hand-assembled at LAMY's craftsman's workshop in Heidelberg, the Studio Ballpoint ships with a LAMY M16 giant refill.
