Description

These sets of three notepads allow you to test different Yamamoto papers. Each notepad has 25 sheets and includes a B6, B7, and A6 sized notepad. Each pack has a guide in Japanese and English showing which writing instruments are compatible with the included papers. 

The Gray Volume 4 Set contains:

  • B7 (3.5” × 4.9”) First Vintage: Made from a superb combination of broadleaf tree bleached pulp and needle-leaf tree kraft pulp. This combination provides a texture of well-used and color. Produced by Tokushu Tokai Paper.
  • A6 (4.1” x 5.8”) Half Tone Color Abyss: Developed as a multicolor envelope paper, taking advantage of a small machine with a wire width of less than 3000mm. Made by LINETEC CO Ltd. and admired for its durability, pen friendliness, and processing suitable for envelope forming.
  • B6 (4.9” × 6.9”) Kony Wrap Sky: Color craft paper used for envelopes, hand carry bags, wrapping paper, and the inner covers of books.

The Onionskin Volume 2 contains:

  • B7 (3.5” × 4.9”) Bank Paper Takasago Premium: Made by Mitusbishi Paper Mills to complement fountain pens. Ink dries quickly on this paper. Takasago Bank Paper Premium is white 88gsm paper. 
  • A6 (4.1” x 5.8”) Smooth Art Paper: A paper with a smooth texture coated with white clay pigment which lends the paper a matte texture for a smooth writing experience. 
  • B6 (4.9” × 6.9”) Sheep Clouds Bond Paper: Broadleaf and conifer pulp combine in this paper for strength and smoothness. The name derives from the mixed fibers giving a texture like swiriling clouds. 

The Silky Volume 3 contains:

  • B7 (3.5” × 4.9”) Bank Paper Takasago Premium: Made by Mitusbishi Paper Mills to complement fountain pens. Ink dries quickly on this paper. Takasago Bank Paper Premium is white 88gsm paper. 
  • A6 (4.1” x 5.8”) Smooth Art Paper: A paper with a smooth texture coated with white clay pigment which lends the paper a matte texture for a smooth writing experience. 
  • B6 (4.9” × 6.9”) Sheep Clouds Bond Paper: Broadleaf and conifer pulp combine in this paper for strength and smoothness. The name derives from the mixed fibers giving a texture like swiriling clouds. 

 Translucent Volume 2 contains:

  • B7 (3.5” × 4.9”) Sukekake: Sukekake paper is easy to write on and translucent. It's also great for wrapping. 
  • A6 (4.1” x 5.8”) Tracing Paper: A translucent paper made from finely beaten pulp. It is great for tracing, as the anme indicates and is also used in paper light fixtures. 
  • B6 (4.9” × 6.9”) Glassine: Glassine is created by very finely grinding pulp and then applying heat and high temperatures to reduce the spaces between fibers. 

Traditional Washi Volume 2 contains:

  • B7 (3.5” × 4.9”) Yoshi Washi: This paper is made of high quality yoshi from Fukui prefecture in Japan. Yoshi is a type of reed.  
  • A6 (4.1” x 5.8”) Sheep Clouds Washi: In Japan clouds are often named after what they resemble. Sheep clouds are altocumulous clouds that have a wool like nature. Despite it's special texture this washi paper is suitable for offset printing. It is produced in Ehime prefecture. 
  • B6 (4.9” × 6.9”) Kin Kaku Den: This hard to find washi paper was developed for offset printing. The name Kin Kaku Den is inspired by the glimmering lights in a Buddhist temple main hall.
